![]() I still prefer a Lipo that fully charged in 40minutes. However, my sanwa MKV only requires 4AA and I have a quick-charger which takes about 4hours to fully load up my 2700mah batts. IMO, charging AA batteries is a pain haha I've always had to recharge my NiMh cells once at the beginning of each race day to get the best results. I've known some folks to report charging their Tx packs as little as once a month! You can typically find significantly higher capacity packs given the same space in the battery compartment allowing LiPo packs to have far longer usage times between charges. If the radio cannot handle 3S, the radio can burn from over voltage. So 9.8-11.2V is charged for AA, while 8.4V is charged for lipo. I find it easier to use the same chemistry for all my packs so I don't have to switch between NiMh and LiPo modes on my charger which is a real pain. iFly4rotors and OP, I would not recommend 7 AAs, because 1.2V is nominal. When I switched to 2S-LiPo, my glitching woes went away, more info here: NiMh cells tend to sag in voltage much quicker and degrade performance by having a higher risk of glitching in some radios I've owned.
